Cherokee Education FoundationAre you looking for a way to invest in your future? The Cherokee Educational Foundation can help. The Foundation was established to maintain, increase and extend educational opportunities for students of the Cherokee Schools. Your gift to the Foundation can be specified for use in any educational program or activity you choose. Gifts can be for any amount in the form of cash, securities, real estate, in-kind, or memorials. For more information about the Foundation, please call the Superintendent's Office at 712-225-6767. All fundraiser donations are tax deductible as the Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a non-profit corporation. The Foundation manages scholarships, gifts, and donations as designated by donor requests. Recently completed by the Foundation was a successful campaign helping the renovate the WHS Auditorium with new seating. A summer reading program and new chairs for the HUB are among items that have also been provided by the CEF. The Foundation was a recipient of the Governor's Volunteer Award for organizations in 2003. Parent Teacher AssociationThe Cherokee Community School District has a very active PTA. If you are interested in attending a meeting or joining the PTA, monthly meetings are held at Roosevelt Elementary School in the Library at 6:30pm. For more information, please contact Barb Radke at 712-225-6760. In past years, PTA fundraisers have included: Chocolate Sales, Froen Food Sales, Cookbook Sales, Catalog Sales, and Safety and First Aid Kits.
